IRIS Desktop Search is supposed to be an advanced search tool for "anything" in your PC. Unless you have gigs of random stuff everyway I don't see the use of it. Windows has a fine file search capability that's easy to use. IRIS must start at start up to keep track of where you are filing things so it can find them later. Software was free with an all-in-one laserjet printer. I've removed from my PC. - jim of new orleans
