| Microsoft Default Manager DefMgr.exe Windows Live Essentials and related 'Live' services: Call, Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Messenger, Writer, Family Safety, Toolbar, etc. Safe but does not need to run at start-up, and can be disabled. It automatically restarts whenever changes are made to any of the above mentioned programs or services. More information | |||

| The Microsoft Default Manager though not required is very helpful in background for all related "Live" services - not a resource hog. If you use "live" services you could create problems when you stop this service, only to cause the service to re-start on demand. More information | |||
