| Why is Outlook dangerous? | |||

| The recommendation "DISABLE AND REMOVE IMMEDIATELY -" is rubbish. It is a legitimate program | |||

| I agree with Jo Blow, B.R. Steenbergen and k. Outlook is NOT dangerous, nor is it malware. I suspect users reporting it as such have legitimate concerns, but more often than not, these 'familiar' sounding names are simply hijacked program names selected by the malware to fool us into thinking the hijacked startup entry or program is actually a legitimate Microsoft program. I had a similar experience with Messenger; where msnmsgr was being reported as malware (it's not malware.) The program/file name had been hijacked and infected. I'd suggest using MalWareBytes Anti-Malware (freeware) to remove the worm. More information | |||
