| sorry i don't know about gateway but recguard protecting from corrupting recovery partition is very important it's definitely of importance and looks needed | |||

| Only thing about this file is it allows the partition to be "accessed" during restore. Use it if you have an HP system and need the restore partition information, otherwise remove it. Check for any dependancies first. | |||

| Didnt work anyway. The recovery partition was loaded with spyware; along with the data drive. | |||

| On HP computers, is a process that comes preinstalled on many brand-name computers. Let customer to send the PC back to HP for a re-image. It's not virus. Recguard.exe is a process from HP that prevents a user from deleting or corrupting the WinXP Recovery Partition on Hewlett Packard computers. | |||
