| This is a handy little mini-HIPS tool - google that if you don't know what that means - however, SOME things do slip by it here and there. It's great at blocking system startup changes and registry changes, however, with 99% of programs that I've run into (I have it on paranoid mode, usually.) - it can be a nuisance, as it WILL bother you about unknown programs - but that's what it's supposed to do. Normally, once you say no to something, it doesn't get past it - but again, it's not foolproof. On my system, it takes up anywhere from 50-100ish MB of RAM - some of you may scoff, and some may not even notice, but just take heed, for a standalone systems protector (note, not Anti-Spyware or Anti-Virus) it's fairly heavy - and for some users, may cause a noticeable performance lag. {Part of Spybot Search and Destroy - Safer Networking is the creator(s).} | |||

| Avast 5 is showing this exe program as a virus. i have been using spybot since long along with Avast 4.8 homme version but now after i upgarded to free version of avast 5 it is showing teatimer exe asa virus JS-inf Sh and advising removal.I have not removed spybot sd as of yet since there is no ill effect. | |||

| Há mais de 3 anos que o tenho instalado no meu PC. Ele tranca qualquer alteração que um programa tente fazer no Registro. Ele pede o consentimento do usuário para fazer ou não a alteração no registro do PC. Ótima ferramenta que faz parte do Spybot Search and Destroy. Deixe-o como está, ou seja, ativado na inicialização. | i have used spybot for years & never had any problems with it, i would say leave it alone & yes it does warn you about changes. but nothing these days are fool proof i guess | |||
