AVG should not be on this computer, but I cannot get it off. There is no uninstall to get rid of it. It is in the Registry.

it is part of AVG's startup. I use Panda anti virus, so I've uninstalled it. If you use AVG, then leave it at start up. For more information about vprot.exe and how to uninstall if desired, bleeping computer as full details.

"The AVG Security Toolbar works with the LinkScanner and checks search results of the supported Internet search engines (Yahoo!, Google, Yandex, Bing, Baidu). If you select to install the toolbar during the installation of AVG Free, it will be added into your Internet Explorer. It contains also a Yahoo! search box, which is part of the toolbar and can NOT be removed separately." (To learn more, go to the link below.) When I installed the last AVG Free version, I allowed the AVG Security Toolbar to be installed - BIG MISTAKE, it hijacked my browser, and so much it felt like I let a Trojan Horse in.
