Unless the main reason you use a computer is viewing PDFs, this program is pointless to have at start-up.

It is a terrible waste! I can't even go to a directory with PDF files in it without it popping up on me! I close it down and it pops right back up. Adobe tells you to drag it out of startup, but it isn't in startup. I disabled it in msconfig and it still happens. Adobe has hit a brand new low!!

The Acrobat Reader Speed Launcher is added to your registry startup when Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed. It supposedly increases the speed the reader launches, but in actuality the benefit is negligible. However, it will definitely cause the rest of your system to bog down. I highly recommend removing it. BEWARE: Every update to the reader (automatic or manual) will cause it to be added back to the registry so it launches at each startup. Shame on you, Adobe!
