| I dislike all video/media products that park themselves in my memory without being needed... this includes windows/winamp/quicktime/realplayer etc. A program should be fleet footed to load, and not attempt to garner market share by taking away choices from me. I am not anti-anybody, but pro choice with my use of applications. | |||

| 1) Using Regedit Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apple Computer, Inc.\QuickTime\ActiveX Find the value QTTaskRunFlags, right click on it and change the value to 0 2)Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Delete the value pointing to qttask.exe That should stop it running automatically when you start windows. | |||

| I'm a hardcore Mac user and I love QuickTime, but I must say QTTask is annoying a heck on my Windows computer. I have enough stuuf starting up on boot that I dont need asnything esle to slow things down. I have yest to see a fast QuickTime startup with this task on or off. Its not taht important to be running all the time. | |||
